Powder coating:

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. The coating is typically applied electrostatically then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin." It is typically used to create a hard finish that is much more durable than conventional paint. Powder coating can be used as a decorative and/or functional coating, depending on the application, and is primarily applied to steel, aluminum or magnesium. Newer technologies allow other materials, such as MDF (medium-density fibreboard) to be powder coated using different methods.
